Draft Grade — Browns
Overall C
ValueB NeedB TradesF FutureC+
The Browns bled value on every deal, hence the C.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Vincent Anthony Jr. at the 146th overall pick, a reach of 45 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. A weekend of give and take that grades a C.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The Beck pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

If Arvell Reese and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Francis Mauigoa
In the 5th overall pick they get a blindside protector at fair value.
Pick20 Rnd1 Jordyn Tyson
In slot 20 they get a true top target at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick31 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 31 they get a three-down second-level presence, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Pick69 Rnd3 Dillon Thieneman
A slide stopped in the 69th pick, with Dillon Thieneman worth more than the price. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick119 Rnd4 Xavier Scott
A tidy little value on Xavier Scott in pick No. 119, a step better than break-even. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick121 Rnd4 Charles Jagusah
Charles Jagusah in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick145 Rnd5 Terrance Carter Jr.
Terrance Carter Jr. at No. 145 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick146 Rnd5 Vincent Anthony Jr.
Value said wait; Vincent Anthony Jr. in slot 146 says they were not listening. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick151 Rnd5 Logan Jones
Logan Jones in the 151st overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Pick199 Rnd6 Carson Beck
Carson Beck at pick 199 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick218 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in pick No. 218 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick245 Rnd7 Bear Alexander
They paid a round early for Bear Alexander in the Round 7 slot, more than the board wanted. The roster fit checks out.
