LeapinLambeaus DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Packers let Hopper fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. Call it larceny. Ty'Ron Hopper sat on the board until Round 6, Pick 44, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
The Fisher reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Taliese Fuaga
In pick No. 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line, and a steal at that.
Pick41
Rnd2
Tyler Nubin
They took Tyler Nubin at par in the 41st overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick58
Rnd2
Christian Haynes
No drama and no debate, Christian Haynes went about where he belonged in the Round 2 slot. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick88
Rnd3
Blake Fisher
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Blake Fisher well ahead of where he belonged. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick91
Rnd3
Audric Estime
Audric Estime at pick 91 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick126
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at No. 126 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick169
Rnd5
Kamal Hadden
Kamal Hadden in slot 169 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick202
Rnd6
Javontae Jean-Baptiste
Javontae Jean-Baptiste at the 202nd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick219
Rnd6
Ty'Ron Hopper
Steal is underselling it; Ty'Ron Hopper at the 219th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick245
Rnd7
Josh Proctor
Josh Proctor at the 245th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jalen Coker
Jalen Coker in pick No. 255 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
