FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B to prove it. There is reaching, and then there is Zion Logue at Round 6, Pick 42. The Packers jumped the board by 33 and dared it to prove them wrong. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Colson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In slot 26 they get a double-digit-sack hope, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat at Round 2, Pick 9 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick57
Rnd2
Javon Bullard
A straight-up fair deal on Javon Bullard at pick 57, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick88
Rnd3
Khyree Jackson
A reach for Khyree Jackson in the Round 3 slot; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick89
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Junior Colson at pick No. 89 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick91
Rnd3
Audric Estime
No drama and no debate, Audric Estime went about where he belonged in No. 91. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125
Rnd4
Isaiah Adams
They took Isaiah Adams at par in Round 4, Pick 25, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick135
Rnd4
Javion Cohen
They paid up for Javion Cohen at No. 135 when waiting would have done the job. It fills a real need, too.
Pick203
Rnd6
J.J. Weaver
They left a pile of value on the table to take J.J. Weaver this early at slot 203. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick217
Rnd6
Zion Logue
This one needs a full-page explanation: Zion Logue in the Round 6 slot, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick219
Rnd6
Isaiah Neyor
Isaiah Neyor in the 219th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick246
Rnd7
Brennan Armstrong
Brennan Armstrong at the 246th overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
