Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

ValueB-

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Packers. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Packers did exactly that with Nathan Pickering in pick 250. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That Sweat pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick58
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
They let Chris Braswell come to them and pounced at the 58th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick62
Rnd2
T'Vondre Sweat
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like T'Vondre Sweat reach the 62nd overall pick and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
Pick83
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
A quiet steal in pick 83: Cooper Beebe for less than the market said. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick88
Rnd3
Cedric Gray
They talked themselves into Cedric Gray at No. 88, and the board did not agree. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick91
Rnd3
Audric Estime
They liked Audric Estime enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 3, Pick 28. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick93
Rnd3
Calen Bullock
A slide stopped in slot 93, with Calen Bullock worth more than the price. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick126
Rnd4
Josh Newton
Fair-plus on Josh Newton, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick135
Rnd4
Justin Eboigbe
A reach for Justin Eboigbe in No. 135; a little patience would have been rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick154
Rnd5
Jacob Cowing
Good price on Jacob Cowing in the Round 5 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick169
Rnd5
Drake Nugent
They reached into another round for Drake Nugent, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick202
Rnd6
Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley in pick No. 202 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick219
Rnd6
Sam Hartman
They left a pile of value on the table to take Sam Hartman this early at the 219th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick245
Rnd7
Josh Proctor
By-the-book stuff, Josh Proctor at Round 7, Pick 25 squarely in line with his ranking. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick250
Rnd7
Nathan Pickering
Nathan Pickering in pick No. 250 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The roster fit checks out.
Pick255
Rnd7
Jalen Sundell
Jalen Sundell at slot 255 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
