LeapinLambeaus DRAFTING FOR THEPackers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Packers
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Packers let Rosemy-Jacksaint fall into their laps, and walked away with a B. When a board-topper like Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint slides to No. 219, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Terrion Arnold
In No. 25 they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick41
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
The board had Jackson Powers-Johnson higher than slot 41, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick58
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
They let Chris Braswell come to them and pounced at the 58th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick88
Rnd3
Brandon Dorlus
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brandon Dorlus at the 88th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick91
Rnd3
Christian Mahogany
No drama and no debate, Christian Mahogany went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 28. It fills a real need, too.
Pick126
Rnd4
Isaac Guerendo
Isaac Guerendo in pick 126 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick169
Rnd5
Layden Robinson
They took Layden Robinson at par in pick No. 169, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick202
Rnd6
Julian Pearl
By-the-book stuff, Julian Pearl at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick219
Rnd6
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in slot 219 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick245
Rnd7
Edefuan Ulofoshio
Edefuan Ulofoshio at pick No. 245 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick255
Rnd7
Trey Taylor
A straight-up fair deal on Trey Taylor at No. 255, value and slot in agreement. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
