Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers let Wright fall and pounced. Final grade: B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Jaylen Wright had no business being available in pick 219, and the Packers did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

Shipley has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In No. 25 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick41 Rnd2 Chop Robinson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Chop Robinson in the 41st pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick57 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick88 Rnd3 Will Shipley
They reached a country mile for Will Shipley at pick No. 88, and the board is aghast. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick91 Rnd3 Tykee Smith
A straight-up fair deal on Tykee Smith at the 91st overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick125 Rnd4 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson in slot 125 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick135 Rnd4 Matt Goncalves
They barely believed it either: Matt Goncalves still on the board at Round 4, Pick 35. The roster fit checks out.
Pick203 Rnd6 Matthew Jones
They left a pile of value on the table to take Matthew Jones this early at pick 203. It fills a real need, too.
Pick217 Rnd6 LaDarius Henderson
Somehow LaDarius Henderson was still sitting there in slot 217, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick219 Rnd6 Jaylen Wright
They robbed the room for Jaylen Wright here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick246 Rnd7 Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson at the 246th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A minor need, but a need all the same.
