Draft Grade — Browns
Overall D
ValueB NeedB- TradesF FutureA+
The Browns lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

The tape said wait; the Browns did not. Trey Zuhn III went at Round 5, Pick 38, a good 58 picks before the board was ready.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. However the rest shakes out, Sadiq at that price is a win they earned.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get the heartbeat of the defense, and a steal at that. More want than need.
Pick27 Rnd1 Makai Lemon
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick38 Rnd2 Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq at slot 38 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter slid further than he should have, and the 56th pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
Pick69 Rnd3 Brian Parker II
Brian Parker II in pick No. 69 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick104 Rnd4 Monroe Freeling
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Monroe Freeling. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick105 Rnd4 Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch at the Round 4 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick141 Rnd5 Tim Keenan III
Tim Keenan III in pick 141 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick142 Rnd5 Iapani Laloulu
Iapani Laloulu at pick No. 142 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick148 Rnd5 Max Iheanachor
A reach for Max Iheanachor in slot 148; a little patience would have been rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Pick177 Rnd5 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at the 177th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick210 Rnd6 Lawson Luckie
They talked themselves into Lawson Luckie at Round 6, Pick 29, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick248 Rnd7 Tristan Leigh
No edge and no loss on Tristan Leigh in No. 248; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
