Draft Grade — Rams
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB TradesD FutureB
The Rams bled value on every deal, hence the C+.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Rams spent the 226th overall pick on McKade Mettauer, a name most had 48 spots down the list. It nets out a thoroughly average C+.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. Getting Clark where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Hit on Taliese Fuaga and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Taliese Fuaga
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick55 Rnd2 Quinyon Mitchell
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Quinyon Mitchell in Round 2, Pick 23. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick115 Rnd4 Jordan Travis
A big swing on Jordan Travis at No. 115, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick142 Rnd5 Keith Randolph Jr.
They reached into another round for Keith Randolph Jr., and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick155 Rnd5 Malik Washington
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Malik Washington. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick160 Rnd5 AJ Barner
A real head-scratcher, AJ Barner in pick No. 160 is miles ahead of his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick183 Rnd6 Malik Mustapha
They robbed the room for Malik Mustapha here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick192 Rnd6 Miyan Williams
Miyan Williams at Round 6, Pick 17 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick214 Rnd6 Bru McCoy
They will replay Bru McCoy at slot 214 for years; that is how good the value is. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick216 Rnd6 Curtis Jacobs
Value with a capital V on Curtis Jacobs in No. 216, a genuine coup. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick218 Rnd6 Erick All
They left a pile of value on the table to take Erick All this early at the 218th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick221 Rnd7 BJ Mayes
BJ Mayes in the 221st overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick225 Rnd7 De'Corian Clark
De'Corian Clark in the Round 7 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick226 Rnd7 McKade Mettauer
McKade Mettauer in pick 226 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick236 Rnd7 Sheridan Jones
Sheridan Jones at slot 236 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
