Draft Grade — Titans
Overall A-
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesA FutureA
Best value of the weekend goes to the Titans for Carson: A-.

The Titans spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Caelen Carson, the No. 98 name on the board, in the 146th overall pick. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.

The Solomon pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

Adding Xavier McKinney by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Joe Alt
In slot 25 they get a blindside protector at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick38 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette at the 38th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick58 Rnd2 Ja'Tavion Sanders
Value with a capital V on Ja'Tavion Sanders in pick 58, a genuine coup. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick91 Rnd3 Mekhi Wingo
Mekhi Wingo in pick No. 91 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick109 Rnd4 Javon Solomon
Of all the spots to shop, they chose OLB-EDGE. Javon Solomon in Round 4, Pick 9 leaves quarterback for later.
Pick146 Rnd5 Caelen Carson
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Caelen Carson in No. 146, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick182 Rnd6 Xavier Thomas
Circle this one: Xavier Thomas at the 182nd pick is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick187 Rnd6 Trevor Keegan
Steal is underselling it; Trevor Keegan at the Round 6 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick242 Rnd7 Darius Muasau
They barely believed it either: Darius Muasau still on the board at Round 7, Pick 22. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick252 Rnd7 Jase McClellan
Taking Jase McClellan in pick No. 252 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
