Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Jaguars kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Jaguars spent slot 126 on Luke Kandra, a name the board had a full 27 spots lower. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Landing Harvey that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick5 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In No. 5 they get an anchor for the offensive line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick36 Rnd2 Jack Sawyer
Jack Sawyer at the Round 2 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick70 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
A conviction pick on Andrew Mukuba at the 70th overall pick that the board grades a round light. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick88 Rnd3 Savion Williams
Savion Williams in Round 3, Pick 24 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick107 Rnd4 Denzel Burke
Denzel Burke at the 107th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick126 Rnd4 Luke Kandra
Luke Kandra in slot 126 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick142 Rnd5 Nohl Williams
Nohl Williams at the Round 5 slot is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick182 Rnd6 RJ Harvey
A slide stopped in the 182nd overall pick, with RJ Harvey worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick194 Rnd6 Antwane Wells Jr.
Antwane Wells Jr. at pick No. 194 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick221 Rnd7 RJ Oben
A reach for RJ Oben in No. 221; a little patience would have been rewarded. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
