GWG5 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

FutureB-
The Chiefs robbed the room for Stowers. Final grade: B-. The board owed the Chiefs one, and it paid up: Eli Stowers, the No. 52 name on the board, sitting there at pick 74 like a gift left on the doorstep.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Capehart has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a potential shutdown corner. More want than need.
Pick29
Rnd1
Cashius Howell
In pick 29 they get a premier pass rusher at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dillon Thieneman in No. 40. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick74
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
They will replay Eli Stowers at the 74th pick for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick109
Rnd4
DeMonte Capehart
They reached into another round for DeMonte Capehart, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick148
Rnd5
Malik Benson
Nice patience on Malik Benson, who had no business lasting to the Round 5 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick169
Rnd5
Ephesians Prysock
Ephesians Prysock at the 169th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Pick176
Rnd5
Keagen Trost
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keagen Trost. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick210
Rnd6
Kaelon Black
Kaelon Black at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
