For all the boxes ticked, the Bengals skipped the loudest one: tight end is exactly as bare as it was.

They will need Dennis-Sutton to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. However the rest shakes out, McAlister at that price is a win they earned.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
