Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jake Golday got past him. The 49ers do not have to explain a thing at pick 92. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

They will need Freeling to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
