FF DRAFTING FOR THEBills

Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

FutureB-
The Bills robbed the room for Simpson. Final grade: B-. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jaylin Simpson got past him. The Bills do not have to explain a thing at the 160th overall pick.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They are betting Hall proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Xavier Legette
In the Round 1 slot they get a weapon on the perimeter, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick60
Rnd2
Ricky Pearsall
They paid sticker price for Ricky Pearsall in slot 60, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick128
Rnd4
Matt Goncalves
They read the board right and Matt Goncalves was the payoff at pick 128. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick134
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at No. 134 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick144
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo in the 144th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick160
Rnd5
Jaylin Simpson
Jaylin Simpson in Round 5, Pick 24 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick163
Rnd5
Khristian Boyd
Khristian Boyd in the 163rd pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The roster fit checks out.
Pick189
Rnd6
Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini in pick No. 189 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick200
Rnd6
Gabe Hall
Gabe Hall at pick 200 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick204
Rnd6
Jaden Crumedy
Jaden Crumedy at the Round 6 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick248
Rnd7
Bub Means
Bub Means at Round 7, Pick 28 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
