Williams is the plan now, and the Bears grade out a F.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Bears started one anyway for J.J. Weaver, 54 picks ahead of schedule. A F, plain and simple.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The whole projection now runs through Caleb Williams; hit there and everything else looks smarter.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. On value alone, Jean-Baptiste makes the weekend a net positive.

The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with interior defensive lineman still staring back at them.
