Some picks age like wine; Garrett Dellinger at the 252nd overall pick will need to, sitting 45 spots clear of his grade. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

Winston Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The 49ers indulged a want in Burke while a need in quarterback, tight end and other spots stayed open.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
