Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
The Seahawks won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: B+.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Seahawks spent Round 5, Pick 37 on Clay Webb, a name most had 70 spots down the list.

Getting Amos where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant at the 23rd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick50 Rnd2 Josaiah Stewart
No edge and no loss on Josaiah Stewart in pick No. 50; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick52 Rnd2 Demetrius Knight Jr.
Demetrius Knight Jr. in pick 52 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick82 Rnd3 Tre Harris
They robbed the room for Tre Harris here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick85 Rnd3 Trey Amos
Trey Amos at the 85th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick92 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
Andrew Mukuba in No. 92 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick97 Rnd3 Jake Majors
They took Jake Majors at par in pick No. 97, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick124 Rnd4 Charles Grant
Circle this one: Charles Grant at Round 4, Pick 22 is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick125 Rnd4 Will Howard
Will Howard at No. 125 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Pick137 Rnd4 Willie Lampkin
Willie Lampkin in slot 137 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick139 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
They reached a country mile for Oronde Gadsden II at the 139th overall pick, and the board is aghast. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick158 Rnd5 JJ Pegues
JJ Pegues at pick 158 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick172 Rnd5 Cobee Bryant
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cobee Bryant. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick175 Rnd5 Clay Webb
A big swing on Clay Webb at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick185 Rnd6 Jackson Hawes
They talked themselves into Jackson Hawes at pick No. 185, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick234 Rnd7 Ricky White III
Ricky White III at No. 234 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
