Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB+ FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B for the Ravens.

The Ravens put a flag in the ground for Eric Gentry, 60 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The Pregnon pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jordyn Tyson
In slot 18 they get a matchup problem out wide. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick45 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
No edge and no loss on Caleb Banks in the 45th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick49 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon slid further than he should have, and pick No. 49 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick84 Rnd3 Markel Bell
They paid up for Markel Bell at the Round 3 slot when waiting would have done the job. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick115 Rnd4 Eli Raridon
Eli Raridon at No. 115 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick120 Rnd4 DeMonte Capehart
They reached into another round for DeMonte Capehart, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick152 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in Round 5, Pick 14 is fair value, right on his grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick160 Rnd5 Treydan Stukes
A reasonable price with a little left over, Treydan Stukes in the 160th overall pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick172 Rnd5 Charles Jagusah
They talked themselves into Charles Jagusah at slot 172, and the board did not agree. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick173 Rnd5 Patrick Payton
Patrick Payton at pick 173 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick240 Rnd7 Barion Brown
Barion Brown in pick No. 240 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick249 Rnd7 Hykeem Williams
Hykeem Williams at No. 249 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick252 Rnd7 Eric Gentry
Eric Gentry at the Round 7 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick257 Rnd7 Roman Hemby
Value said wait; Roman Hemby in the 257th pick says they were not listening. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
