When a board-topper like Smael Mondon Jr. slides to the Round 6 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Bears did not. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They will need Webb to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with interior defensive lineman the one that mattered most.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
