FutureA
The Seahawks bled value on every deal, hence the B-. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Seahawks did exactly that with Eric Gentry in No. 194.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Branch value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick64
Rnd2
D'Angelo Ponds
D'Angelo Ponds is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick96
Rnd3
Zachariah Branch
The board had Zachariah Branch higher than pick 96, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick161
Rnd5
Trey Zuhn III
They reached a country mile for Trey Zuhn III at the 161st overall pick, and the board is aghast. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick194
Rnd6
Eric Gentry
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Eric Gentry. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick211
Rnd6
Peyton Bowen
They took Peyton Bowen at par in Round 6, Pick 32, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
