Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Everything downstream of Bo Nix depends on Bo Nix, and the building knows it. They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.

The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with linebacker, running back and other spots still on the board. The Bullock steal is the beam this whole class leans on. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

In the end, a class that has to defy its grades just to matter.
