Grs107 DRAFTING FOR THEChiefs
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Chiefs: B-. The Chiefs' one glaring miss is tight end, a need they left exactly as they found it. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
However the rest shakes out, Oladapo at that price is a win they earned. Every board in the league had Jacobs lower, and that gap is the story. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Xavier Legette
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick61
Rnd2
Kingsley Suamataia
Kingsley Suamataia at Round 2, Pick 29 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick92
Rnd3
Tyler Davis
They paid sticker price for Tyler Davis in slot 92, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick129
Rnd4
MarShawn Lloyd
MarShawn Lloyd in No. 129 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick161
Rnd5
Curtis Jacobs
They went early on Curtis Jacobs in pick No. 161, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick171
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kitan Oladapo in the 171st pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick175
Rnd5
Ethan Driskell
No drama and no debate, Ethan Driskell went about where he belonged in pick 175. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick207
Rnd6
Jalen Green
Jalen Green at the 207th overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick250
Rnd7
Walter Rouse
No edge and no loss on Walter Rouse in the 250th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
