Draft Grade — Bills
Overall D-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureC
The Bills robbed the room for Robertson. Final grade: D-.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Bills, and the value they bled adds up to real damage.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped offensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Brown pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.

Robertson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and offensive lineman is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 21st overall pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick22 Rnd1 Chris Brazzell II
In the 22nd pick they get a matchup problem out wide. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick31 Rnd1 Kayden McDonald
In pick No. 31 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick86 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
No edge and no loss on Zakee Wheatley in Round 3, Pick 22; it is a wash and a sensible one. The roster fit checks out.
Pick121 Rnd4 DJ McKinney
DJ McKinney in No. 121 is fair value, right on his grade. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick163 Rnd5 Kevin Coleman Jr.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kevin Coleman Jr.. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick219 Rnd7 Sawyer Robertson
They will replay Sawyer Robertson at pick No. 219 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick228 Rnd7 Barion Brown
Barion Brown at No. 228 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
