Marc_G DRAFTING FOR THEBrowns
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B-

NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Browns checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Browns never got to the one that mattered most.
Wingo has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Haynes at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. On the needs board they went 4 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick59
Rnd2
Mekhi Wingo
They paid a round early for Mekhi Wingo in the Round 2 slot, more than the board wanted. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick90
Rnd3
Christian Haynes
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Christian Haynes at No. 90. The roster fit checks out.
Pick138
Rnd5
Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil at Round 5, Pick 2 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick162
Rnd5
Malik Washington
Fair-plus on Malik Washington, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick199
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Curtis Jacobs. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
