The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Seahawks reached some 107 spots for Barryn Sorrell, and value like that does not grow back.

Bryant at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Jaxson Dart gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
