The phones were a trap the Bears kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. They will need Muhammad III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
