If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Rams, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

The cost of the Allen reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Jacobs pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
