Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueC- NeedB+ TradesB FutureB-
The Bills checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

When the story of this class is written, it opens with Malachi Lawrence at the 60th pick, a reach of 77 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

On value alone, McNeil-Warren makes the weekend a net positive. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Anthony Hill Jr.
No drama and no debate, Anthony Hill Jr. went about where he belonged in the 27th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick60 Rnd2 Malachi Lawrence
A real head-scratcher, Malachi Lawrence in pick 60 is miles ahead of his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick91 Rnd3 Darrell Jackson Jr.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Darrell Jackson Jr. in No. 91. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick92 Rnd3 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Steal is underselling it; Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick126 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
Keylan Rutledge at the 126th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick166 Rnd5 London Humphreys
London Humphreys in slot 166 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick220 Rnd7 Dominic Zvada
A reach on Dominic Zvada in pick No. 220; the board had better options right there. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick228 Rnd7 Roman Hemby
Roman Hemby at the Round 7 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
