The Lions cashed the board's mistake on Johnson: B.

The Lions ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They banked enough surplus on Johnson to cover a lot of smaller sins. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Reaching for Allen left real value on the table behind him.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
