The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bills watched Jacob Cowing slide 54 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. No fireworks, but a solid B.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Bishop left real value on the table behind him.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes. They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
