The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Jets spent their marquee pick on Fernando Mendoza, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They banked enough surplus on Fields to cover a lot of smaller sins.

The Mendoza reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
