The Panthers let King fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Kobe King at the 227th overall pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The cost of the Wease Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
