Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Lions never addressed safety, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Eboigbe. The cost of the Murphy reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
