Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureA
The Cardinals won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-.

Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Cardinals came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.

They are betting Travis proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. On value alone, Smith makes the weekend a net positive.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Laiatu Latu
In the 15th pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27 Rnd1 Tyler Guyton
In pick No. 27 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35 Rnd2 Ladd McConkey
Ladd McConkey in Round 2, Pick 3 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick48 Rnd2 Junior Colson
Junior Colson at slot 48 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick66 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
Fair-plus on Christian Haynes, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick71 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
No drama and no debate, Cooper Beebe went about where he belonged in pick 71. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick90 Rnd3 Khyree Jackson
Khyree Jackson at the 90th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick103 Rnd4 Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany at No. 103 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick116 Rnd4 Mekhi Wingo
Nothing to complain about; Mekhi Wingo went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick137 Rnd5 Jordan Travis
A real head-scratcher, Jordan Travis in Round 5, Pick 1 is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick161 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith in the 161st overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick185 Rnd6 Zion Tupuola-Fetui
They went early on Zion Tupuola-Fetui in the Round 6 slot, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick226 Rnd7 Garret Greenfield
A tidy little value on Garret Greenfield in slot 226, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
