The Texans won the night they stopped Giddens from sliding. Grade: D-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Cobee Bryant; the Texans did not wait, grabbing him 55 spots ahead at the Round 4 slot.

Giddens falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The trade table is where this weekend went wrong.

The Texans indulged a want in Moore while a need in quarterback stayed open. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.

In pick No. 19 they get a blindside protector at fair value. A real need, handled.

In the 20th overall pick they get a double-digit-sack hope, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.

A wide receiver of that caliber at slot 44 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.

The board fumbled Nick Emmanwori all the way to Round 2, Pick 23, and they scooped it up. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.

Tyler Warren in No. 60 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
