Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesA- FutureB
The Ravens checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Ravens did exactly that with Nadame Tucker in the 115th pick. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Getting Wheatley where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
In pick 25 they get a seam-stretching tight end at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
No edge and no loss on Emmanuel Pregnon in the 39th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick47 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
They paid a round early for Jake Slaughter in slot 47, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick80 Rnd3 Elijah Sarratt
Fair-plus on Elijah Sarratt, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The roster fit checks out.
Pick91 Rnd3 Darrell Jackson Jr.
They liked Darrell Jackson Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 91. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick113 Rnd4 Zakee Wheatley
Zakee Wheatley at the Round 4 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick115 Rnd4 Nadame Tucker
Nadame Tucker at Round 4, Pick 15 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick154 Rnd5 CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels slipping to No. 154 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick162 Rnd5 Dametrious Crownover
Dametrious Crownover in pick No. 162 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick165 Rnd5 Zxavian Harris
A tidy bit of business in the 165th overall pick, where Zxavian Harris graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick173 Rnd5 Zane Durant
By-the-book stuff, Zane Durant at pick 173 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick174 Rnd5 Seth McGowan
Seth McGowan in the 174th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick211 Rnd6 Josh Cameron
They will replay Josh Cameron at the Round 6 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick220 Rnd7 Thaddeus Dixon
No drama and no debate, Thaddeus Dixon went about where he belonged in slot 220. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick250 Rnd7 Alan Herron
Alan Herron at the 250th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick253 Rnd7 Jack Kelly
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jack Kelly. A minor need, but a need all the same.
