Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Slaughter: C+. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Packers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. The final tally is a middling C+.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Slaughter at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Washington II pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick Analysis
Pick56
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jake Slaughter in No. 56, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick88
Rnd3
Julian Neal
They paid sticker price for Julian Neal in slot 88, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick124
Rnd4
Eugene Wilson III
They jumped the gun on Eugene Wilson III, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick164
Rnd5
David Oke
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on David Oke. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick204
Rnd6
Taylen Green
Taylen Green at pick 204 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick205
Rnd6
Le'Veon Moss
Value with a capital V on Le'Veon Moss in the 205th overall pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick239
Rnd7
Tristan Leigh
A reach for Tristan Leigh in Round 7, Pick 24; a little patience would have been rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick255
Rnd7
Elliot Washington II
Elliot Washington II at pick 255 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
