A costly weekend of dealing drags the Chiefs to a B-.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Chiefs took Trinidad Chambliss a full 79 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. Coleman falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
