Bryan DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
Paul Jr. should have been long gone. The Seahawks pounced, and earned a B. You build a draft on nights like this. Chris Paul Jr. had no business being available in the Round 4 slot, and the Seahawks did the only sane thing and turned in the card. No fireworks, but a solid B.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They will answer for taking safety early while edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots went begging.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In the Round 1 slot they get a mismatch in the passing game at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick50
Rnd2
Nick Emmanwori
The board fumbled Nick Emmanwori all the way to the 50th pick, and they scooped it up. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick52
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Malaki Starks at safety with edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots open.
Pick82
Rnd3
Cameron Williams
A quiet steal in pick 82: Cameron Williams for less than the market said. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick92
Rnd3
Quinn Ewers
They took Quinn Ewers at par in the 92nd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
Pick137
Rnd4
Chris Paul Jr.
Chris Paul Jr. in Round 4, Pick 35 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
