Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Bears answered their biggest question with Daniels. Grade: B-.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. They will need Bell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Getting Bishop where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In the 1st overall pick they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Malik Nabers
In No. 9 they get a matchup problem out wide. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick75 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
They took Christian Mahogany at par in the Round 3 slot, which is nothing to complain about. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick111 Rnd4 Nelson Ceaser
By-the-book stuff, Nelson Ceaser at Round 4, Pick 11 squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick123 Rnd4 Jaheim Bell
They talked themselves into Jaheim Bell at slot 123, and the board did not agree. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick143 Rnd5 Cole Bishop
They read the board right and Cole Bishop was the payoff at the 143rd pick. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
