Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Packers for Edwards: B+.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Daijun Edwards, the No. 205 name on the board, stolen at slot 243.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.

The Bortolini pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In pick 32 they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick41 Rnd2 Tyler Nubin
A straight-up fair deal on Tyler Nubin at pick No. 41, value and slot in agreement. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick58 Rnd2 Kris Jenkins
Nice patience on Kris Jenkins, who had no business lasting to the 58th pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick64 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick88 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
They read the board right and Cooper Beebe was the payoff at No. 88. The roster fit checks out.
Pick91 Rnd3 Trey Benson
Trey Benson at slot 91 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick127 Rnd4 Isaiah Adams
They paid sticker price for Isaiah Adams in Round 4, Pick 27, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick168 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
Malik Mustapha in the 168th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick204 Rnd6 Tanor Bortolini
A premium they did not need to pay, Tanor Bortolini a notch or two before his time. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick216 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Garret Greenfield. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick243 Rnd7 Daijun Edwards
Somehow Daijun Edwards was still sitting there in the 243rd overall pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick251 Rnd7 Sheridan Jones
Sheridan Jones in No. 251 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
