Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Fortune: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how O'Donnell Fortune got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at the 160th overall pick.

Sanders has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Luther Burden III
In the 23rd overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick54 Rnd2 Donovan Ezeiruaku
The board had cheaper options than Donovan Ezeiruaku at No. 54, and it noticed. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick87 Rnd3 Ozzy Trapilo
No drama and no debate, Ozzy Trapilo went about where he belonged in pick 87. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick123 Rnd4 Sebastian Castro
They will replay Sebastian Castro at Round 4, Pick 22 for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick160 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
They barely believed it either: O'Donnell Fortune still on the board at slot 160. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick200 Rnd6 Addison West
Addison West at the 200th pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The roster fit checks out.
Pick239 Rnd7 Shilo Sanders
Shilo Sanders at the Round 7 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick251 Rnd7 Quinn Carroll
Quinn Carroll in pick No. 251 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
