Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Jaguars spent pick No. 179 on Graham Mertz, a name most had 142 spots down the list.

However the rest shakes out, Skattebo at that price is a win they earned. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.

The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
