The tape said wait; the Chargers did not. Jared Wilson went at pick No. 55, a good 155 picks before the board was ready. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Mondon Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.

Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
