Overall B-

Best value of the weekend goes to the Cowboys for Weigman: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Conner Weigman got past him. The Cowboys do not have to explain a thing at slot 208. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Every board in the league had Stackhouse lower, and that gap is the story.

Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Walter Nolen
In pick No. 25 they get an anchor for the defensive front. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick47 Rnd2 Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson slid further than he should have, and pick 47 is lovely value for the edge rusher. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick64 Rnd2 Howard Cross III
Howard Cross III in the 64th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick78 Rnd3 Quinshon Judkins
No drama and no debate, Quinshon Judkins went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 14. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick121 Rnd4 Evan Stewart
They robbed the room for Evan Stewart here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick153 Rnd5 Derrick Harmon
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick169 Rnd5 Jamon Dumas-Johnson
Jamon Dumas-Johnson in No. 169 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick170 Rnd5 Raheim Sanders
Raheim Sanders in the 170th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick171 Rnd5 Logan Brown
Value with a capital V on Logan Brown in pick 171, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick189 Rnd6 Logan Parr
Logan Parr in the 189th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick195 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse at Round 6, Pick 20 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick208 Rnd6 Conner Weigman
Steal is underselling it; Conner Weigman at slot 208 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick233 Rnd7 Dorian Strong
They paid sticker price for Dorian Strong in pick No. 233, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
