Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B
ValueA- NeedC+ TradesB+ FutureC+
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Cowboys and Coleman-Williams: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Cowboys were there to profit. Ryan Coleman-Williams, the No. 48 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 3, Pick 30.

If Reynolds pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Spending an early pick on safety with quarterback, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick35 Rnd2 Carter Smith
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Carter Smith in pick No. 35, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick47 Rnd2 Sammy Brown
They robbed the room for Sammy Brown here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick66 Rnd3 Will Heldt
Will Heldt at slot 66 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick77 Rnd3 Bray Hubbard
A curious use of the 77th overall pick. Quarterback, running back and other spots needed the pick; a safety in Bray Hubbard did not.
Pick94 Rnd3 Ryan Coleman-Williams
They barely believed it either: Ryan Coleman-Williams still on the board at No. 94. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick120 Rnd4 Luke Reynolds
A surprising call. With quarterback, running back and other spots still to address, they spent the Round 4 slot on Luke Reynolds, a tight end they were not short of.
Pick198 Rnd6 Kayin Lee
Good price on Kayin Lee in the 198th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
