It is a puzzling start. The Chiefs had quarterback, running back and other spots to solve and reached instead for Davison Igbinosun, a cornerback, at Round 4, Pick 9. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

If McAlister pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

Benson falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
