Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

The Chiefs did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. The Chiefs clearly saw something nobody else did in Trey Zuhn III, taking him 24 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
David Bailey
In pick No. 9 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Jonah Coleman
A straight-up fair deal on Jonah Coleman at pick 40, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
Pick74
Rnd3
Omar Cooper Jr.
No drama and no debate, Omar Cooper Jr. went about where he belonged in slot 74. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick109
Rnd4
Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts in the 109th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick146
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in the 146th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick176
Rnd5
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in Round 5, Pick 38 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
