FutureB-
The Dolphins cashed the board's mistake on Haulcy: D+. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Dolphins shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.
Every board in the league had Daniels lower, and that gap is the story. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Haulcy at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
A rough weekend that leaves the roster with more questions than answers.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
A quiet steal in Round 1, Pick 11: Jeremiyah Love for less than the market said. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick30
Rnd1
Sonny Styles
In the 30th overall pick they get the heartbeat of the defense at a price that makes it sweeter. A real need, handled.
Pick32
Rnd1
Colton Hood
Colton Hood in slot 32 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick43
Rnd2
Zion Young
A straight-up fair deal on Zion Young at the 43rd pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick87
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
You do not let a safety like A.J. Haulcy reach pick No. 87 and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick90
Rnd3
Elijah Sarratt
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Elijah Sarratt at the Round 3 slot is the proof. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick94
Rnd3
Ted Hurst
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Ted Hurst at pick 94. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick130
Rnd4
Jack Endries
Jack Endries in the 130th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick151
Rnd5
Beau Stephens
They paid sticker price for Beau Stephens in the 151st pick, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick188
Rnd6
Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner slipping to slot 188 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick227
Rnd7
Andre Fuller
Andre Fuller at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick238
Rnd7
Jalon Daniels
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jalon Daniels well ahead of where he belonged. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
