The Dolphins did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. Nobody had Eric Gentry this high, and it is not close. The Dolphins reached 99 spots to get him at Round 7, Pick 40.
That is an edge rusher worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. With quarterback and running back unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
